The holidays

Once again the hollidays are upon us. We enjoyed our visit this Thanksgiving with my family. This was the first Thanksgiving we have had in 4 yrs with all of the kids together. Mama enjoyed it completely, she said she had been praying that all the kids could get together. It was really worth it to see mama happy, but we really enjoyed it too. This Christmas we will be celebrating Christmas at home. This will be the first time that I have cooked Christmas dinner, and the first year in our new home. The kids are excited and they have already put in their ideas for the menu. They will be decorating the tree today. I had to go and get some more lights, they have been after me to do that. I went and got what we needed today, so after they do their chores, they can finish the tree. It has been killing Brandon, all he has done is to continue asking me when am I going to get the lights for the tree. I had to do something or he would have done the same to today. So I went to get the lights today. The kids have been a great help in participating in helping me get ready for Christmas this year. I do think this will be a great thing, and I believe everyone will have a great Christmas. I hope everyone enjoyed the Christmas cards and pictue I sent. The boys have really grown and I think everyone would like to see them. I talked to Don today, he had gotten the card and really enjoyed the picture. It was really nice to hear from him. I hope everyone has a blessed Christmas and a great New Year.

November Fun

This November has started out on the right track. We had a 16th birthday party for Lewis, and everyone had a good time. Little Sydney, tickled Keith, she loved sugar bear and she carried the puppy everywhere she could. The girls have grown so much, Sydney is skinny like Brandon and has a head full of curls. Some time when I look at them, they remind me of Cheryl and me when we were young. God I really have to admit that Cheryl and Michael is raising two wonderful girls. I got all boys though, and I can't see them, being any easier to raise the 2 girls. I know they have to be a handful. Cheryl gets cheerleading, dancing and I worry about games and such. I really missed Tori and Steve and the kids couldn't make it down, but they were here in spirit. It won't be too much longer than when we can go and visit them. The boys are looking forward to it also. We visited Tori and Steve and the kids the first weekend of October, for brandon's birthday, and we enjoyed it completely. The kids change whenever I get to see them, Kt's hair really looked nice, and the color was great. Little Steve had bleached his but he still looked good with it done, and Shad, well Shad was Shad, a sweet and beautiful blue eyed little boy. The boys always wants to go and see them when we come down there and we always find a way to get together if we can. Now Cliff, my brother, became an instant father, and I don't know how he does it, but I can tell he loves those girls and they love him too. They are also beautiful and full of energy. I am glad Cheryl and Cliff are doing so well, they have a lot on them and Cliff takes care of mama. I can tell mama is happier since Cliff and Billie got married, she enjoys spending time with the girls. She needed something such as that, we live so far away from each other, but when we can, we try to see each other more and also talk on the phone more. I enjoy talking to her more now. I love my family and would not give up on them so easy, no matter what happened, I will always love them, and indebted to the for the remainder of my life. I just wish they knew how I feel about them.

My Family

Hi. To introduce our family we start with me and Keith. We met in April 1991, his sister was my best friend and we were set up on a blind date. Of course I did see a picture of him before our date, he didn't get the same opportunity. It was love a first site, our future started there and we ended up getting married in August of the same year. We just celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary in August this year. We started a family in October 1992 when our oldest (Lewis) was born. Things weren't easy and we had some downfalls, but we have survived all that was put against us and came out on top. Lewis is now 16 and ready to get his liscence, what am I going to do? In February of 1996, Alexander came along, and he was ready to come out and spend his time making me wonder if I would ever be ready for another. It didn't stop and in September of 1998, Brandon came along and finalized our family. I had three boys and was ready to quit, I don't think I could ever had another boy. I am glad I stopped then, 3 boys can keep you on your feet, My daddy would have been happy with all the boys, he passed away about 3 months after my second, Alexander was born. We lived in my home town of Belmont and moved to Shelby about 7 years ago. We just recently bought us a new home and plan to spend the rest of our lives in Shelby. At first, I was not too sure of moving so far away, but with the years passing it got easier and I can't imagine living any where else. We now live out so far in the country, and things got more peaceful. I love my new home and the boys are happier, and so is Keith. We also have 3 dogs and 2 puppies to add to our family. Some people think we are crazy for having so many animals, but we don't look at it that way, we simply say that they are a part of our family, and they can be a joy also. It seems like it was just yesterday when we had our first and now he is 16 and getting his drivers liscence. I guess this is where my grey hair start to come in and show. Lord be with us. My youngest just turned 10, and Alexander just will be 13 in February. They do grow up fast. We just recently aquired a Motorcycle and my oldest is wanting to get his motorcycle liscence. We are getting ready to celebrate our first Christmas in our new home. I am excited, its going to be a great Christmas. We have twice as much space and have plenty of room for a big Christmas tree. I would really love it if it snowed for Christmas, but that is a long shot. Any way my name is Donna and we complete the Smith's of Shelby.
